After playing this beta for a bit, the best way to describe Exoprimal is that this would have been an early 2000s arcade cabinet that would have had an elaborate movable rig attached to it, and it would have been connected to other cabinets of the same type. Tl dr It's a burst of fun much like an arcade machine, but I don't know if it will have legs. I'm hoping whatever campaign and other modes the full release has, will make up for the beta's impression, because as of now I'm thinking this should have just been a free game with monetary cosmetics instead. That is partly why something like Exoprimal happens to exist on Steam and consoles. As I played the beta I started to think about if this should have ended up as an arcade machine instead, but then I realized that arcades are close to dying or dead anyway. If this were an arcade cabinet I would have felt like I've gotten way more than what I paid for, and would have left the experience very pleased. The games lasted about 15-20 minutes each. Then, at the very end it becomes PvP between you and the other team while dinosaurs are still attacking and causing chaos. There's tons of visual noise happening, yet somehow it manages to flow well enough to be a fun romp(much like a hectic arcade game). You go from arena area to arena area fighting dinosaurs together while the game announcer constantly talks in the background(much like an arcade game). So basically, this is like when the Dreamcast would have those arcade-style games that felt really fun to play on a demo disc, but you'd only rent it or borrow the full version from a friend because you knew it would be a few hours of fun and then back onto the shelf.
